Irwin Football has outstanding week and soars into sole possession of 1st place. The syndicate has been hanging tough for the entire season and was in last place as recent as 2 weeks ago and now leads by 3 games. They traditionally have had strong comebacks in November but this is an early charge for the finish. For the last 3 weeks they have steadily put strong showings together while the other syndicates have stumbled. Harris Football has fallen to last place and a major shakeup is believed to be imminent.

OHIO STATE WINS SLOPPY GAME

The Buckeyes trailed San Diego State 12-6 in the 3rd quarter when the intense Ohio State defense caused 5 turnovers that sealed the Aztecs fate. Ohio State wins 27-12 and faces the rejuvenated Penn State in Happy Valley. The Nittany Lions gave coach Joe Paterno his 323rd career victory in an upset of Northwestern.

Lydell Ross ran in for a touchdown in Ohio State's loss to Wisconsin Saturday.

DELAWARE SHOWS PROMISE

Trailing at halftime 14-0, Delaware finds some offense and surges back to the lead in the 3rd quarter with 17 unanswered points. But the Tribe of William and Mary wear out the Blue Hens and win a hard fought 21-17 victory in Newark. Tubby Raymond starts a Freshman for the first time in his coaching career and Mike Connor showed great poise and promise.

Freshman QB Mike Connor (13) was impressive in his Delaware debut
